[SOLVED]quater fan spin 820-2936

was slightly waterdamaged, replaced parts r3880, r3881, c3880, r5079, c4905, r5413 as all of them were looking pretty bad with only one side being still attached. went from no fan spin to quarter spin. nothing else looks damaged. what causes a quarter fan spin?

ppdcin_g3h measured on pin 1 of c7085 is giving me 16.8
voltage on pin 28 is 16.24 measured on pin 1 of c7020
voltage on pin 27 is 16.24 measured on pin 2 of c7020
voltage on pin 17 is 12.59 measured on pin 1 of c7050
voltage on pin 18 is 12.59 measured on pin 2 of c7050

sorry cable came unpluged when i moved it

I asked you PPBUS_G3H voltage and resistance between pins 17-18 and 27-28 not voltage, anyway....

According to the values you give, you should have 12.59V on F7040 wich is ok..

I guess PP3V3_S5 is present.. PP5V_S3 is high for a second while fan spin???

Water damage around SPI and or SMC???

yes pp5v_s3 is high for just a second when it starts to spin, i checked l7510 nothing it sits at 0v threw fan spin, and yes there was a bit of corrosion down by the smc,

Could be corrosion under SMC, remove the glue around it, absolutely all!! Put some flux and apply heat, better if you can make SMC dance, practice on donor board first!!....

reflow of smc did not change it. r7402 is fine. ALL_SYS_PWRGD spikes up when the fan turns on to around 3.5v but goes right back to 0v

thats one thing im a little mixed up on, what is the order of the rails? power states? ALL_SYS_PWRGD gets its power from the pp3v3 s0 rail, does that mean its last to start or the first to start. sorry if its a stupid question. ive watched the videos over and over where he explains it. but i still get confused

ok upon checking the clock chip i get power to pins 2 and 13 correctly, but pins 5,6 only get power for a second as the fan spins up. thoes come from the PP3V3_ENET ive searched all the way up to Q7922 and the signal starts for one sec then dies

nice! that is why your the man. figured something b4 the clock was bad since it dropped charge b4 the clock chip. but sure enough replaced the chip and its boting
