820-00165 - Did I kill the CPU

Hi,

Had some sensor issues with this one so I decided to replace U5800. After I replaced it, it doesn't boot anymore. I'm guessing I fried the CPU, which is right on the other side of the board. Any suggestions?

Cheers, Rick

Probably fucked it, take U5800 off and pray it will work again. If not CPU may be dead or balls got crushed/separated.

Use less heat, practice more. There is no golden tip for this. Also a dead U5800 never happens, usually something else on the data bus is messing things up. Corrosion on connectors and SMC are the most likely.
