Have a Macbook Pro Retina been brought with a trackpad that does not work at all and keyboard that doesn't work... sort off.
If you try to switch it on normally from the power button - that switches it off, but on the log on screen the trackpad does not work and neither does the keyboard, BUT
if you hold does the power button to switch it off then it switches off. So in the OS the keyboard does not work apart from the power button, but this is part of the keyboard anyway isn't it?
Trying to use the keyboard by trying to get it into target disk mode:
Switch on and hold T, does not work, it just loads into the O/S.
Haven't started checking voltages yet, am getting a flex cable for the trackpad and external keyboard and mouse both work OK, but does the power button somehow work independently to the rest of the keyboard?
