[SOLVED]macbooks that work 100% but dont chime

this problem is not specific to any one job but after a few jobs, including my personal 2013 a1466 the macbook doesnt chime when starting
ive found this on 2013, 2014 and 2015 macbooks, its not really a problem because i can tell when its on when the lcd turns on
my question is, what makes the chime and why would it not chime after water damage repair
