820-2915 No backlight on Wake

No liquid but there was pysical damage caused by someone who took a drilll to the battery screws. PP3V42 inductor was off the board and also a short around the ISL.
Repaird that and now powers and works fine but....

No backlight after sleep / on wake. Light through the back shows wallpaper.

What signal is missing here please?

Of course. There is nothing wrong with the backlight from startup and it's fine as long as you don't let it sleep. As soon as it sleeps and the backlight goes off it stays off even when you wake the Mac and can see an image on the screen the backlight does not come back on, Restart it again and all good. It's just a sleep / wake thing.

There is no brightness control at all.
Also when sleep for a while, no backlight AND no image on wake.
