[SOLVED]820 2610 will not power on off battery

820 2610, came in dead, replaced c7771, machine now powers, but will not power on off battery alone. The machine will stay powered on running off the battery, just can't get it to boot with out magsafe in. Power button works to shut down at all times.

Battery recognized? Battery condition in OSX?

Thanks duke, got trolled by what was my known good batt, looks like it's now a worthless POS. Tried a new one, and we are back in business
