820-00165-A Power Button Not working

A1466 Power Button not working.
No WD, board looks great.
replaced keyboard flex
then replaced keyboard
same issue.
powers on perfect. all keys and key combos work.

Does it power up when you use short the “smc_onoff_L” + “ground” on the logicboard?
have you try another trackpad?
have you inspect the J4800 trackpad connector?

Exactly what Alan said see if it powers on when you short the power pads first.

sorry guys been super busy, pulling this one back out.
ok so shorting SMC on/off does turn the board on
tried another track pad
and using a new flex.

Power button line goes to trackpad board, then directly to trackpad flex.
Has nothing to do with trackpad electronic circuitry; is just a trace in that board.
Your issue should be on trackpad connecor J4800, or SMC_ONOFF_L trace doesn't arrive there.
Check trace for continuity and contact inside J4800 pin 20.
