Hi Guys,

i have a Macbook 820-3332-A, with black screen. if i connect the Charger, the fan starts spinning. Does anyone have a idea, how to locate the error.

Thanks a lot!

Start posting some voltages.
Is normal that board starts itself when charger is plugged in.

Do you get all voltages, even VCORE?
Any USB activity?

I already reballed U8900, it's still the same but i found something out. If i press and hold the power button and then connect the charger, it turns on and it works perfectly. i also can restart the machine.

@2informaticos I will check later and post the values.

Do you mean machine starts in SMC bypass?
In such case fan should go to max; thath wouldn't be perfectly working...

U8900 is QFN chip; what did you reball???
Let see the result after changing it.

Hi,

as i told you, the machine starts in smc bypass mode. If i connect only charger, without battery, i get the following voltages and if i connect the charger without battery, the fan doesn't spinn:

pp3v42_g4h
pp5v1_chgr_vdd
ppvbat_g3h
PP3V3_S5_PWRCTL

ppvin_s0_gfximpvp

missing voltages

vcore
pp1v8_s0
pp3v3_s0
SMC_S4_WAKESRC_EN

If i connect an usb mouse, the light of the mouse is blinking.
And the cpu slowly gets hot
Orange light is also present on charger.
And i am using a 60W charger, i hope this is enough.

That board needs 85W charger; be sure to use original one.
If battery has some charge, should also start with 60W charger + battery.
Seems that PM_SLP_S4_L is pulsing; confirmm that.
Check if PM_SLP_S3_L also pulses...
If yes, check if all voltages (secondary supplies) controlled by these signals pulse too.

PM_SLP_S3_L 0v
PM_SLP_S4_L 0v

battery is empty 2v

edit: i mesured again, it pulsing but very low voltage 150mv

edit: 2 i mesured now again and PM_SLP_S4_l reaches now 3v

"Check if PM_SLP_S3_L also pulses...

An o-scope is able to catch any fast pulse...

ALL_SYS_PWRGD pulses?
