820-3435 not saving pram

Any thoughts into why a Mac air would not be saving started to pram (eg keyboard info)? Always boots into password recovery.

Cannot access boot menu?
Try pressing right Option key, instead of left one.
Just in case left key is bad.

But your machine can have EFI password and you can't make NVRAM reset even; it will start in recovery mode if you try it...

no efi password. the issue is that things like changing the keyboard in the OS is not pervasive. and every boot results in password reset screen (with no keys pressed). effectively meaning that a pram reset is needed each boot.

is this a bios failure?

Did you try external OSX (through USB)?
Or try another SSD preinstalled OSX.
