A1466 Charging , Orange Light, But doesn't show its charging in macOS

Percentage just continues to rise , is this just a software error?

What shows OSX then?
Check power in system report.
Machine works on battery only?
Does the percentage correctly decreases then?

Orange light doesn't mean charging from 2013.
You will get orange light without battery too; it will switch to green at full battery, 100% level.

If the battery percentage increases, then it's definitely an OS thing.

Yes it goes up,

In in recovery mode completely normal - it shows normal charging

but in the main OS percentage goes up but it doesn't say it is charging

Did you try another OSX?
Don't you have a preinstalled OSX pendrive?
Does it work on battery only?
