A1708 EMC 3164... works great until I try to shut down

Customers device had liquid damage... no wifi developed into no power... cleaned visible damage and sent thru ultrasonic cleaner

Laptop now powers on wifi works charges battery etc... Im having trouble locating any malfunctions... however

When I choose shutdown the macbook just restarts... after about 5 seconds.. works fine no lag but will not shutdown unless...

If I hold the power button it will shutdown

Tried new trackpad/trackpad flex/keyboard? Sounds like one of them is continuously restarting the machine

See if board stays off if you disconnect trackpad/keyboard and trigger SMC_ONOFF_L signal.

The strange thing is it powers right back on if I shut down thru OS... Does not power back on if I use power button

Sorry let me clarify that... it powers on and off with power button (does not restart) ... but if I shut down thru OS it shuts down then powers right back on

Try first USB test OSX, to discard a software issue.

all tests passed in Apple Diagnostics... I feel this must be a software issue... only reason I suspect something else... is it definitely was water damaged

**Update** its not a software issue.. it restarts with shutdown command from any OS... cannot find any issues other than the restart upon shutdown... it boots, posts and runs fine... charges and everything... I cannot find any non functioning components... yet it still restarts on shutdown unless I physically hold the power button down

PRAM reset done?
Do SMC reset too...

Crap under WiFi module? Was there corrosion near it?

Did you find corrosion on mentioned area???
Ultrasonic cleaner cannot rebuild a broken trace.
Check AP_DEV_WAKE, AP_PCIE_WAKE_L and BT_WAKE_L voltage.
