Hello everyone, i''m Daniel, new to this forum although i've been watching Louis videos on YouTube for a while now.
I have this 820-2915-b wich had EFI password.
Trying to get rid of this password i've copy bios information from a working board (same number) and write it on the "bad" board without any issues.
Now the board starts with a quarter fan spin for a second and then the fan runs normal. No image, no chime.
I've put back the bios info (bin file) wich i've previously saved, again with no issues but the board refuse to give me an image or a chime.
Everything appears to be normal, all the rails are present, the components gets normally hot.
I did this flashing without removing the bios chip from the board.
Could this causes some damage to the board?
The good board from where i only did the reading still works fine.

Any suggestions?
I would much appreciate!

Did you flash it with clamp cable?
Are you sure didn't connect it in reverse mode any moment?

Did you verify first reading from your board, before reflashit it?
Test board starts with backup from "bad" board?

"Trying to get rid of this password i've copy bios information from a working board (same number) and write it on the "bad" board without any issues."
That means dirty ME region problems; not always visible at first moment.
There exists other way to delete the password, maintaining original ME and rest of BIOS.

Yes, i've use a clamp cable. I'm sure i didn't connect it wrong, i've manage to read the chip first attempted.
Now i'm afraid to flash the bin file from the "bad" board, to the good board, i could have two donor boards. ?
This method should've work, i didn't do anything wrong, right?

You can have GPU issue, as above mentioned.
But that can be solved with Tiresias killer.
If the backup will work on the other board, very possible to have dead GPU.
If doesn't work, you've probably have a bad reading (useless backup).
Do you get USB activity with the "backup"?

I will do more investigation this weekend.
I do this like a hobby in my free time.
I'm not familiar with "Tiresias killer". Sorry!
Thanks for the help so far!

I finally took the time to look over this board again.
I swap the bios chip from the good board to the bad board.
Surprise, now the board it's working again but unfortunately there is indeed problems with GPU on this board.
After few minutes image breaks and restats.
try to replace c9560, no luck.
This board it's good for parts now.
So apparently me writing to that bios chip straight on the board caused some damage to the chip. Or my programmer it's not the best, something cheap from eBay, first time when i've used.
Anyway, you mentioned something about other methods to remove EFI password.
I have other board with the same problem.

I understand.
I have also 2850 who freezes 10-20 second after trying to install OS.
C9560 could be the problem?
Or could be something else?
Probably this issue has been discussed many times before but i couldn't do a search, not sure how you can search on this forum.
Also can you help me with a good method for removing the efi password?

If you repair Apple stuff, get Medusa programmer.
It will clean ME, remove password (disable GPU even); all the job is done onboard.

In the meantime, upload your passworded BIOS to unlock it.

Upload your backup somewhere and post the link.
Unless you talk about how to remove password, not for a specific case...
