Hi

For no apparent reason the backlight stopped working

Where do I start?
Is that something common with those boards

Do you get image, only missing backlight?
Any voltage at pin 1 of J8300?
Also check resistance to ground there, w/ and w/o LCD connected.

Pin 1 53.75v
With screen connected or disconnected is over 173 k Ohm

Bad LCD assembly, open LED strips.
Backlight voltage present, but too high because no current flows throuh LED strips...

Ok, its on the screen side, the connector is liquid damaged. Hmm, looks like a delicate job to swap this connector. Any pointers?

Maybe Chip Quik alloy helps you te remove it without applying hot air...
