820-3023 CPU Temperature high after RAM repair, came in with 3 beeps at startup, we reballed the RAM chips and now works fine, but after a few minutes of use the fan starts to spin really fast.

When checking temperature the CPU cores are close to 100f

ASD fails with: ERROR --1 [Theta dh too high] Thermal Interface: TIM Test 75 percent GB (Test #4) Check that CPU heatsink is properly attached, using theta dh + 75 percent guard band.

Heatsink and paste are perfect.

Thanks!

Like I said Heatsink and paste was fine, but I went ahead and tried a new one with fresh paste, same problem, I will now take a look at u5510, any other suggestions?

You probably have a bad CPU/PCH that was causing beeping in the first place, and it is now failing the thermal sensors as well. Without any corrosion, this is probably junk.

Ok I left it alone and since the customer wanted to still use the MacBook we installed Mac Fan Control and changed the fan to be controlled by the CPU proximity temperature rather than the CPU temp, this should give the owner some extra use time out of this old Mac.

Thanks for all the help!
