  • 820-3437-B slow

    Hi!

I have this 820-3437-B board that suddenly (no drops, no water damage) run slowly (with fan spinning high loading os),
but sometimes it starts and work perfectly fine for days at full speed.

    What i can start checking?

    Thanks!

Run ASD 156 EFI version and set it to continue on error. See which sensors are failing.

Try known good LIO board/flex, as TP too.
Also inspect both connectors for corrosion.
Run ASD when doesn't work correctly, or just monitor temperatures with HWMonitor.

I get an error on sensor TC0P (Cpu proximity)
Sensor is reading below the low limit

edit: same with TCHP and TS2P

          "Temperature (TS2P) -- S2 Camera Proximity "
Check for corrosion at camera connector.

            Checked, no corrosion at all

If error remains without the camera plugged in, then inspect inputs and outputs to U5800. I had one similar the other day with a bad U5800.

                Did you try disconnecting camera?
ALS sensor is connected on the same bus with the rest of temp sensors.

                  Disconnecting camera everything works fine!
I have to check U5800 as John says or i start checking camera cable and components inside the screen?

                    U5800 is OK then.
I don't think the client is interested about ALS sensor.

No, but it uses the camera...
Checking J4002 PIN 4 is shorted to ground, i will check R4030 and R4031, am i right?
                      Thanks

If it works without the camera, I’d advise customer to live without it. Fixing camera is a nightmare

Leave camera connected, only cut off traces to pins 8/9.

Cutted traces to pins 8/9 and passed afi asd without errors.
                            Thanks!
