820-4924 temporary green light then fades. no fan spin

Checked if SMC_RESET_L is present and it is. PP3v42_G3H is also present
I reflowed the SMC, no change

I'm guessing this is definitely an SMC replacement isnt it?

PPBUS_G3H exact voltage?
Is it stable?
Also check if SMC_RESET_L is stable high.
Did you try known good DCIN board?

Try to start in SMC bypass mode.
Do you get 3V3_S5/SUS?

revisiting this now, just received donor boards for it jsut in case.

PPBUS_g3H is 12.56v and stable
SMC reset is 3.37v stable
Does nothing on SMC bypass, no fan spin.
checked with two other DC in boards as well
3v3_S5 available

I replaced ISL and now I always get green light, no more fading

Could it be a fake charger that caused this? perhaps sending 18v somewhere it shouldnt have?

You should get orange light, even without battery.
Is it original Magsafe 2 60/85W?

What about 3V3_SUS, PM_RSMRST_L, PM_PWRBTN_L, PM_BATLOW_L?

sorry i totally meant orange light. It's got orange light. yes to the magsafe.

3v3_SUS is present
PM_RSMRST_L = 3.3
PM_PWRBTN_L = 3.3
PM_BATLOW_L = 3.3

Ok so triggering SMC_ONOFF_L drops the voltage to 0.4 or even less initially. however it doesn't do it again until i have the machine off the charger for a bit and then start again. Bascially only does it once after plugging in charger

PM_SLP_S0 starts low, when triggered goes 3.3v
PM_SLP_S3 starts low, when triggered goes 3.3v
PM_SLP_S4 starts low, when triggered goes over 2v
PM_SLP_S5 starts low, when triggered goes over to 3.3v

ALL_SYS_PWRGD pulses yes
SMC bypass does nothing. it's as if i'm not even doing it. Usually the light stays off when holding down power button but the light turns on as if i wasnt pressing it.

Also jsut replaced the SMC (i was feeling lucky) and has the exact same symtoms as before
tested S3 and s0 lines and all pulse too

7 & 3 of U1950 pulse too
Can i try a new bios without transferring programming just to see if it works? I don't curtrently have a programmer
