820-0141 no backlight at power on. Sleep then wake and backlight

As in the title.

There is no backlight at power on.
Once the MacBook has gone to sleep and is woken, the screen backlight works again.

I don't want to remove the board as I think Apple should deal with this one. However, I'm not sure about the consumer law in the country of original purchase.

Anyone seen this problem?

Possibly issue with SMC_LID signals.
You should first try to see if machine is under warranty.
I will not be surprised of T2 issue...

Ok, what I don't understand is how BKLT_EN can be there, but still no backlight. All other functions are working fine.
Sleep then wake and we have backlight. Restart we have no backlight until sleep / wake.... There must be a way t work around this.

Did you try PRAM reset?
Also do SMC reset, if battery wasn't disconnected.
