so, i got this machine as water damage there is no sign of it, inside the machine. i took out the board and made some measurements. ppbus, is 12.64v, i checked data lines, they are open. i checked smc_reset_l, and its fluctuating. pm_battlow_l is fluctuating too. my suspect is that the SMC is damaged, but i dont wanna mess with it, whitout a second opinion. so do i reball/replace SMC or where do i check?

PPBUS_G3H and 3V42 steady voltages?
You must get stable SMC_RESET_L signal.
Check U5110 area and post its voltages.
Test disconnecting TP/KB cables too.

PPBUS_G3H fluctuating between 12.55v and 12.66v. 3vs42 stable at 3.42v. SMC_RESET_L is at 2.34v.

As for U5110

pin 1 - 3.42v
pin 2- 0v
pin 3-3.42v
pin 4- 3.30v
pin 5-2.16v
pin 6- 3.10v
pin 7-3.42v
pin 8-3.31v

Not too much things connected there.
First be sure R5100 is not affected by corrosion.
Next remove R7100 and see if SMC_RESET_L goes high.
J6100 is suspect too; you may need to clean, or remove it.
If still the same, change U5110.
For the last remains SMC.
You can try reballing it first...

resoldered r5100 to make sure it has good contact with pads. removed r7100, smc reset l increased to 3.12v....

If SMC_REESET_L went high after R7100 removed, didn't test if board starts that time?
I hoped you make the mentioned steps one by one.

Try to reball SMC again.
Use solder paste, not balls...
