820-0165 working but no Magsafe light

something very strange, I have an 820-00165 that is working but there is no magsafe light. Has anyone ran into this issue before? I tried to search the forum to no avail.

Do you mean was just a bad DCIN board?

Yes in this case I had a bad DCIN board I was using. This board did have problems but I restored PP3V42. I have a bunch of DCIN boards so I must have grabbed one that is not working. Do you know if there is something on the DCIN board that would keep the green light from coming on even though you have PP3V42?

DCIN board has few components on ADAPTER_SENSE line.
There should be a 0 ohm resistor, or a small coil.

And of course a TVS diode, which is the common fail.
It will burn serie mentioned resistor/coil too...

Is it worth repairing? I mean the DCIN board works, just no green light.

Why not, for few cents only?
You can probably find 10 min one day to fix it...
