820-00281 20v 0.03amps

[No-Clean]

Board looks like its been thru a few shops, GPU seems to have some heard near by.

Found short on PP3V3_S0, both U9850 and U9800 were shorted, I replaced those and short is gone, but not the board is stuck at 20v 0.03amps
I checked all rails on page 120 and 121 (that's how I found the above short) now there are not shorts but no power, PP3V3_S0 is obviously 0v.

Any pointers are appreciated, reballing that U9800 took some time.

If board was messed up like that, could be just waste of time.

Did you check basic voltages and signals for power on sequence?
Do you get 3V3_S5/SUS?
What about PM_RSMRST_L, PM_PWRBTN_L and RTC?

PP3V3_SUS 3.3v
PM_RSMRST_L 3.3v
PM_PWRBTN_L 3.3v

Taking a closer look it seems like some work was done on U1100 I think that is the PCH, or the previews shot that worked on it removed it for some reason and this may not even be the correct one.

Please advice.​

I don't think is a good idea to continue.

However, you can check RTC signals.
Also trigger SMC_ONOFF_L and check for drop pulse at PM_PWRBTN_L.
If present, check for pulse at PM_SLP_Sx_L signals.

I think this will be a good board... for parts LoL​

Apart of PCH, looks like SMC problem too.
So good board for scrap...
