  • [SOLVED] No Back Light 820-3332 water dmg

U9420 Had Corrosion. Notebook was not powering on after ultrasonic. Powers up no back light. No signs of corresion anywhere else. Pin 1 on connector looks red but soldered on c9000 is reading at 54v

54V means no connection to LEDs in LCD. Burned connector and/or cable is my 1st guess.

No needs to be 2012 15". Why don't check the connector, I bet the pin is burned.

then bad LCD cable or burned connector on LCD side. 54v means it does not see a load

At this point you need a known good LCD. This is why you keep a few cracked but working assemblies for testing. Make sure the connector on the board is good before plugging in your good LCD or the cable may burn again.

@Duke Hey been a little busy... Forgot to update so 54v on Pin 1 is no load detected from LED's This was the case as the new Retina display lit up perfectly!
