Oscilloscope advice.

I know nothing about oscilloscopes or what I want in one. A Rigol DS1102E is available for about the half the price of a new one and looks pretty much brand new.

Would this be a suitable scope to get started with?

Is a scope even worth getting? There have only been a handful of times where I have thought I needed one.

I have a Rigol DS1072CA myself, and I have had moments where it was useful. Best example off the top of my head: A 3.3v volt rail which looked like 3.3 on a multimeter, but was a garbled mess on the scope due to an issue in the voltage regulator. This led me to look for problems in that rail where I otherwise would've assumed it to be fine. I rarely reach for the scope, but I don't regret getting it either.
