Need good power supply solutions that does work for classic VCC main shorts?

I have the (circuit specialists pps2116a) power supply that Rossmanngroup uses for finding shorts but no matter how I do, would not output watts at all into virtual short typically around 0.3 ohms. Happens every time when I have VCC_MAIN short and now have IR camera on hand but not useful because power supply short since power supply voltage falls to exactly zero (means no current at this point, means no hot spot to find) at any settings on both voltage and current.

I'll rig up the resistor around 5 Ohms to keep current flowing, i'm sure resistors will heat up much. :)

I rather prefer a power supply that does not freak out at dead shorts that almost zero ohms?

Stay tuned:
Cheers, Jason

it should not drop to zero unless you have 1-2 Amp Constant Current setting. it is also unlikely to have 0.3 ohm short circuit resistance - my MM test probes have 0.4. anyway if you have 0.3 ohms and 5A CC, you have somewhat around 1.4v and 6-7 watts of dissipated energy which should be pretty easy to find.
