    If that ever happens, you have to replace every single chip connected to 3v42 meaning U7090, SMC, U5110, U1950, U1900 etc. It's a PITA, but it can be done.

    If a board issue, inspect J9500 for corroded pins/traces. All audio circuit is on the I/O Board besides the 1v5 switch. If that switch is bad, usually you get no audio devices found.

    If you're getting audio devices in OSX, you have a bad I/O Board, I/O Cable, or bad speakers.

    Have you tried a new trackpad and cable? Trackpad is connected to the SMBUS data lines so can definitely cause issues with boot/sensors etc.

    Measure resistance to ground in ohms. Shorted is shorted however.

    If you started the board without U2600 soldered on, forget it this is done. If 3v3_S5 is shorted and the CPU is all that gets hot, this can also RIP.

    Never ever ever ever EVER use anything but an OEM 60/85 watt Magsafe 2 charger on the newer Retinas aka 2015. You probably have no amp pull because of a bad charger...

    Do as 2informaticos suggested. It is possible you have a bad SMC from the donor board. Did you pull it from an 820-3209 board?

    No we do not. Please only reply. Let me be more clear. Post voltage on C7797. If 8.59 volts, then something wrong with feedback/the LED driver.

    U8040 is a very common culprit when no audio devices are found. Do you get any voltage on PP1v5_S0SW_AUDIO? If no, check for short on that line. I've had many 00164/5 boards have that chip be bad and cause no audio, so it wouldn't surprise me if that's the case here.

    8.2 is too low should be 8.6. Reflow SMC. If no change, replace from an identical 820-00165 donor board.
