I used my more expensive meter this time to triple check things:
C7023 Pin 2 is 69k. Pin 1 is 68.1k
C7020 pin 1 is 15.3m, pin 2 is 14.9m
C7050 pin 1 is 14.4m
Sorry about that. I forgot to mention I replaced R7015, and R7021, they looked like they had eyes in the center.
I also replaced C7023, C7080.
When testing everything again I stuck back on the 2 fuses F7000/1.
I did also remove R7060 at one point to further verify things. I did stick it back...
I have replaced U7000 3 times total now with a brand new one but I keep getting the same result.
r7015 pin 1 has 5.1v, pin 2 has 1.266v. I get no shorts anywhere (actually just found one). Diode mode on both pins is OL.
PPVBAT_G3H_CHGR_REG Now seems to have a short. Thermal cam shows U3900...
C7050 fluctuates from 1.5v to .900.
P_IN 5.12
AUX_DET 0
SMC_RST_IN also appears to be CHGR_RST_IN? I get 0v. TP_CHGR_SMC_RST_L I also get 0v but the board is not hooked up to a trackpad.
VDDA 5.06
VDDP 5.06
EN_MVR 0
CBC_ON Don't know how I am going to test this one without removing U7000 or...
My refernce only: TT9752
I get no PP1V8_SLPS2R, so cannot do DFU.
I have replaced U7000, still same results, 5V on the meter.
PBUS line coming from U7000 is 1v.
5v is present on R7020 pin 1.
PPVBAT_G3H_CHGR_REG also has only 1v.
What am I missing here? No liquid damage at all. The board is very...
I went back and checked RP611 Pin 1 and there is definetly no voltage. I tested on my external monitor again and it recieves a signal but never any video.
I do believe I hooked up one of the intel displays. Fried?
When I tried to turn the computer on, the fan spins up real fast.
Reference Only: REF1137
History on the board, I think the touch bar could have fried some things but I am not certain as I have worked on this a while back, and am back at it again.
I can see picture externally on a display, and also on the LCD screen, just no backlight.
LPDP_INT_HPD does not...
No go. This board does have a bit of audio lines (Speaker Amp according to schematics) that have been burned, but they all seem to be at the proper voltage. Like around C6464.
No go with flashing the BIOS, I am however seeing only the 1st and 2nd LED light up. I am not sure if I got the right bin file. I found this one off of Badcaps.net
9.5.3.1526_SLM_PRD_outimage.rar

This iMac the customer said stop responding to video when lightning struck.
I have narrowed the power rails down to no voltage on PP1V05_S0_REG.
The 4 LED's, only 1, 2, and 3 light up. Even if I plug in the screen from the iMac, it never recognizes the screen by lighting up that 4th LED.
I get...
No luck with forced DFU mode however it may be trying to do something. I noticed the USB-C meter remains at 5v until I removed the tweezers and it goes back up to 20v. Also I tried hooking an external monitor back up to it again and it seems to be getting a signal, and then it loses the signal...
Liquid damage, between UP710 and RV810 the damage is present on one of the traces, looks like one of the slugs between RW080 and RV810. I would not imagine this would affect this? I was not able to get it in to DFU mode but I have not tried to force it. Will try now.
I have also replaced the...
My reference: REF1128
Issue: Thermal camera shows pulsing in the Y1 region of the U8100 Chip when initially turned on, but stops after a few seconds. L5800 also I can see warms up during this process. The board does turn on, fan spins, but I get no video on internal or external display. I do...
Aha, sorry. I am used to the old power aliases.
The USB-C port does have slight damage but as long as I have been scewing down the connector plate, it stays fine at 20v. Upon replacing U7000 I do have 3 pads missing but they say NC, so I am assuming these don't matter. The pad numbers missing...
Its not powering up now but I get a healthy 20v PPDCIN_G3H_CHGR up to the mosfet Q7030. I tried reflowing this but I think it may be bad?
I just removed L7030 to isolate the issue and pad 1 of L7030 jumps up and down from 2.1v to 1.6v.
Took up Q7030 also and pin 1 is up and down, its is looking...
C7652 pin 1 Is spiking up and down, 1.99v to 0v, there was burnt sides around this area. I take it C7652 is not supposed to do this? Bad U7650?
Replaced the following: C7691 This is spiking up and down too 3.2 to almost 0v, C7652, C7698, and R7695 all replaced.
I get 12.3v to 12.6v on Pin 23 on...
Update:
J6700 voltages while running with the lid closed:
Pin 18= 1.7v
Pin 19= 0v
Pin 20= 5.1
Are we a bit low on pins 18 and 19 with the lid being closed?
