Checked HWMonitor again. PECI SA shows fluctuating readings between 0 and 40 °C. Any idea which sensor that is?

Hm, just checked on another A1502 and found Airport Proximity always shows 129°C. So this shouldn't be the problem. But still, fan is running high. SMC Reset and PRAM Reset already done btw.

820-4924 came in not booting. SSD was the cause. Changed the SSD and it boots. However, now the fan runs on full speed. HWSensors shows Airport Proximity Thermal Sensor at 129°C, all others just fine (around 40°C) I don't have ASD for that machine, MRI Tool hangs and AHT shows no errors...

Sorry for my late reply. Even if the thread is old, I don't want to leave it unresolved. Unfortunately we had to to return the board without repair.

VRAM Reflow did the trick for mine. Weird this happened in bulk.

Thanks to the two of you. I think both of you are right. But in my opinion telling people upfront about an error which is none is too much of a hassle. Because if you point them to something, they will always think there must be something wrong, as otherwise they wouldn't have been warned about...

VRAM was not replaced. Should we try that? GPU on 7 of the boards was never touched. Also thermal compound was still original. Have you seen this exact pattern before and were you able to solve it?
