820-4924 Fan on full speed, Airport Proximity 129°C

Checked HWMonitor again. PECI SA shows fluctuating readings between 0 and 40 °C. Any idea which sensor that is?

820-4924 Fan on full speed, Airport Proximity 129°C

Hm, just checked on another A1502 and found Airport Proximity always shows 129°C. So this shouldn't be the problem. But still, fan is running high. SMC Reset and PRAM Reset already done btw.

820-4924 Fan on full speed, Airport Proximity 129°C

820-4924 came in not booting. SSD was the cause. Changed the SSD and it boots. However, now the fan runs on full speed. HWSensors shows Airport Proximity Thermal Sensor at 129°C, all others just fine (around 40°C) I don't have ASD for that machine, MRI Tool hangs and AHT shows no errors...

820-2610-A 9 Sensor errors in ASD

Hi, I have a 820-2610-A here which came in for GMUX repair (showed green artefacts definitely coming from GMUX). After reflowing GMUX (Yes, we did remove _all_ glue), the artefacts were gone but the fans ran on full speed, which they did not before reflowing the GMUX. ASD shows 9 errors (see...

820-3332-A No internal video unless external display is connected and disconnected

Sorry for my late reply. Even if the thread is old, I don't want to leave it unresolved. Unfortunately we had to to return the board without repair.

VRAM Reflow did the trick for mine. Weird this happened in bulk.

[SOLVED]820-2915 Color Bar on startup - Normal behaviour?

Thanks to the two of you. I think both of you are right. But in my opinion telling people upfront about an error which is none is too much of a hassle. Because if you point them to something, they will always think there must be something wrong, as otherwise they wouldn't have been warned about...

[SOLVED]820-2915 Color Bar on startup - Normal behaviour?

Hi, we replace lots of GPUs on the 820-2915 boards. Replacements go absoluteley smooth without any major problems. When checking the devices after the repair, we often see a colored bar while booting, as shown in the attached image. This bar only appears for one or two seconds while switching...

    820-2850-A strange graphics error

VRAM was not replaced. Should we try that? GPU on 7 of the boards was never touched. Also thermal compound was still original. Have you seen this exact pattern before and were you able to solve it?

    820-2850-A strange graphics error

Hi everybody, YES, I know this board is shit and I know that in 99,9% it's C9560 which causes kernel panics due to GT330M usage. But here is the strange thing: In the last year, we have repaired around 500 boards with "GPU problems" by simply replacing C9560, only 2 (!) in fact needed a new...

Macbook Air lcd only a1466 cost 190 average?

Hi Louis, I can replace a MBA screen in 35 minutes without any dust, but 17 minutes? Your receptionist must be wonderwoman. Does she have a sister I can hire? :D No seriously, how does she do that?

    JBC JT-1D Pre-Purchase Survey

Hi, we use both JT-1A and JT-1D stations in our repair center and I have never seen any better hand-held hotair tool than those. We also only use JBC tools for micro soldering (especially the NA-SE) and they are absolutely superior to any other tool we have had and worked with. The JT-1D is a...

    Replace 216-0810005 GPU with 216-0810028 ?

Is the needed strap resistor configuration similar to the one for 216-0810084 or is it different?

    Replace 216-0810005 GPU with 216-0810028 ?

So swapping with 0810001 is possible without Bios changes?

    Replace 216-0810005 GPU with 216-0810028 ?

Well we do ME cleaning, but that's as far as my experience in BIOS editing goes. No, 40 $ is not too much for a chip and it's not the 10$ savings that we could have from using another chip (which would be sucked up by the time spent to figure out the BIOS tweaks anyways). But as I wrote we have...

    Replace 216-0810005 GPU with 216-0810028 ?

Thanks for the quick reply. We certainly know about the free repair programme, but our customers mainly chose us over a free repair by apple because they know that we - don't put a refurbished board with unknown history into their device - have a turnaround time of 24 hours So sending the...
