Does anyone have the 820-02016 schematic and board view files?

    A1708 820-00840 with buzzing sound

I removed the corroded U6420 and the buzzing is gone. Since this audio amplifier seems extremely hard to find, I decided to leave it as it is. Since there are 2 speakers on each side, I can barely hear the difference with one of the four nonfunctional.

    A1708 820-00840 with buzzing sound

Yup, you're right. Upon closer inspection, the liquid damage extended to left speaker amplifiers. I see some potentially corroded capacitors and inductances. Any tips on troubleshooting an audio circuit?

    A1708 820-00840 with buzzing sound

This 820-00840 board had liquid damage, mostly in the area of the USB-C circuitry. I replaced some corroded resistors and the machine starts up and functions normally. Except that any time an audio signal is produced, the left speaker buzzes audibly for a few seconds, then goes quiet. Startup...

    820-00165 Air missing Vcore

It's 4-5 Ohms in resistance mode. I checked a good board and it's around 10-20 Ohms.

    820-00165 Air missing Vcore

I have a 00165 board without PPVCC_S0_CPU. I removed the inductor L3710 and the CPU-side of the inductors measures 5 Ohms to ground. CPU shorted internally?

820-00165 with all power rails but no POST

Ok, I did a reflow with flux and the board starts up and works now. Will test long-term to see if the issue is fixed.

820-00165 with all power rails but no POST

Close inspection revealed a tiny speck of corrosion on one corner of the SMC. Anything I can do to the SMC that doesn't involve replacing or reballing it?

820-00165 with all power rails but no POST

Tried a known good BIOS chip (clean ME region). No improvement. Fan spins, then stops, then continues spinning without POST.

820-00923 MacBook Pro kernel panics with battery connected

The machine now started kernel-panicking even with the battery unplugged. Report attached. Worth going to a good BIOS or suspect bad CPU?

820-00923 MacBook Pro kernel panics with battery connected

It was advertised as "authentic Apple", but I have my doubts. Do you have a suggestion for buying a good OEM battery for this model?

820-00923 MacBook Pro kernel panics with battery connected

The issue is unchanged with a new battery.

820-00165 with all power rails but no POST

PLT_RESET_L is 3.3 V. I have no history on the machine.

820-00165 with all power rails but no POST

This 2015 Air board generates all power rails, Vcore, ALL_SYS_PWRGD, and PM_SLP_S4_L. Fan spins but does not POST, chime, or start up. The only abnormal signals I noticed are SMC_PROCHOT = 3.4 and CPU_PROCHOT_L = 0. Any ideas?

820-00923 MacBook Pro kernel panics with battery connected

Diagnostics (with connected battery) shows no issues. Will try with new battery and report back.

820-00923 MacBook Pro kernel panics with battery connected

I have an A1706 (2017) MacBook Pro (touch bar) with the following issue: with the battery disconnected, it starts up and works fine. With the battery connected, it produces kernel panics, usually before it finishes start up. No liquid damage that I can see. I tried NVRAM, SMC reset, and starting...

820-00138 charges battery only with non-Apple chargers

Thanks for pointing me to U7000: I found some corrosion there and replaced it. All functional now.

820-00138 charges battery only with non-Apple chargers

I have an 820-00138-A board (15" MacBook Pro 2015) that works and charges the battery with non-Apple chargers. With an original Apple charger, I get either a flashing green light on the plug or no light at all. I replaced Q7155, the battery power MOSFET, but it didn't solve the issue.

A1398 MacBook Pro 820-00163 in boot loop

A chip supplier off eBay (advancednetwork) I have used before. Have installed ~10 brand-new EFI chips from them in MacBook Pros with 100% success rate. Any way to test if it's the GPU?

A1398 MacBook Pro 820-00163 in boot loop

I installed a brand-new SPI ROM with guaranteed clean ME region. But the same issue persists: half-way startup, then kernel panic. Verbose mode shows this screen just before restarting.
