    A1706 820 - 00923 Service battery then died!

Thanks for that - I did find that myself, but I can't find clear details anywhere on how to actually flash, which is why I asked if there are tools I need to do this like Medusa... I can find the step by step for older boards like 820 - 00165 etc, but nothing for the 920 - 00928. Do I need...

    A1706 820 - 00923 Service battery then died!

Hey mate - customer had the issue pop up on it's own without being after an update. It's on 12.3 Monterey. Is the A1706 the same as older macs for CLEAN ME? I need to use an aftermarket tool in order to do this? I don't have such tools, are you able to point me in the right direction. Tried...

    A1706 820 - 00923 Service battery then died!

It boots with the battery replaced, original battery no, though they both sit at .042amp. The original battery connected, the mac doesn't boot. With a new battery connected, it still sits at .042 though will boot when prompted, but doesn't get to charging current - sits below 1amp like there...

    A1706 820 - 00923 Service battery then died!

Hey mate Replaced battery with known good, sits at .042mA with battery connected. When booted amp meter doesn't go to charging current, sits below 1A. Once mac is booted it says it's on 1% and to service the battery. Hope this helps.

    A1706 820 - 00923 Service battery then died!

Thanks mate - that sorted it & it now boots - though only without the battery attached. With battery attached it draws .042mA. Any idea what would cause the logicboard to think the battery needs a service, and then only works without it?

    A1706 820 - 00923 Service battery then died!

    Thanks for your reply mate, I don't - I'm getting 2.1v @ L6900 PPVIN_G3H_P3V3G3H = 3.8v P3V3G3H_BIAS = 3.8v P3V3G3H_FB = 0.7v Hope this helps.

    A1706 820 - 00923 Service battery then died!

Afternoon! I have a 820 - 00923 in at the moment for repair. I was told it died once, then came good, then died again but before it did the battery came up with a please service message. Once I got into it I found liquid damaged (only slight) around C7097 & C7096, clean it up. Once that was...

I've been sent in a 820 - 00840 that looks completely fine. No prior attempted repairs or water damage etc. Intermittent working from battery. Getting "no charging" message even though it's plugged into charger - sitting at 1% Only pulling .200 - 600amp during boot and operation...

820-01958 water damage, now no boot!

Thanks for your reply. I'm unsure how I can check these when we don't have access to the correct boardview file... U7650 is similar to other models, though this area isn't :/

820-01958 water damage, now no boot!

    Thanks a bunch for the insight and tip! I'll make sure I do that in the future, Unfortunately I don't have another known good board here for this one! Post basic voltages for U7650; pins 23, 12, 13, 22, 29, 21. 23 = 12.3v 12 = 0v 13 = 0v 22 = 3.3v 29 = 0.3v 21 =0.1v Thanks for your help as...

820-01958 water damage, now no boot!

I have a Macbook pro in - 820 - 01958 that had water damage around U7650 I'm getting 20v at .07amp with my amp meter After checking on the forum I've found some info on putting these info DFU etc, though I don't have another machine to test this unfortunately. I've found one of the R32 coils...

    Macbook Air 820-000165 missing PM_SLP_S5_L

Thank s a lot for your help, I removed the coils - Short on PPVCC_SO_CPU_PH1 Removed R7320/10 short on PPVCC_S0_CPU & CPU_VCCSENSE_P Removed C7260 Cap still short on CPU_VCCSENSE_P What can I do next or is this CPU gone?

    Macbook Air 820-000165 missing PM_SLP_S5_L

Sorry I ignore you mention on the coils. I checked L7310/20 for pulse, nothing. I then checked diode reading on CPUVR_PHASE1 and I get 0.000 - full short. So my question is, does that mean CPU is toast on this on, or what should I do next. Thanks, Max

MBA A2179 - No water, No drop - Turned off while working, doesn't turn on. Takes current, no heat.

Thanks for your reply The extra 0 in 0.0042 ohm was another mistake lol. Thanks mate, back to the drawing board ;)

    Macbook Air 820-000165 missing PM_SLP_S5_L

Sorry mate, you're right, - "PM_SLP_S4_L is consistently changing - hangs around 500mA" is wrong - I get 0v When I mention the fan, I wouldn't call it spin, it's ever so slightly budging. "Inspect U1950 area; check for pulse at its pins 7 & 3." When I trigger SMC_ONOFF_L I get a pulse at...

MBA A2179 - No water, No drop - Turned off while working, doesn't turn on. Takes current, no heat.

G'day 2informaticos! I've got a similar issue - no water damage, no drop etc. On a known good board I get a diode reading of .0042 with 120 ohm and 1.6v on these R33 marked coils. On the board I'm working on I get a diode reading of .160 240 ohm and 0v. Is this also a faulty CPU? Thanks, Max
