PP1v8 was shorted due to internal board short i THINK I successfully resolved. 1v8 is present and stable. Damage was extremely localized thankfully. I think that's all good, hall sensor isn't even populated right now, i plan on running wires, not using internal traces.

Its behavior now...
820-01700 presented with no obvious damage. Customer says wouldn't wake from sleep one day. This is the board with the "left side SSD controller corrosion problem", so I looked there first and found the smallest of evidence of the usual corrosion *beginning* to occur. I saw just a little bit...
Problem: Without battery any usb port pushes 20v @.07mA then immediately drops to .05mA for about 20 seconds. Reboots and repeats. With battery, creeps up to 800mA and battery inductor "lights up" under thermal cam. Reboots after 20s again.
I removed U4901, as it took a lot of damage. Still...
Other tech ultrasonic'd this and it worked first try, video ok etc.
Customer came to get it and ofc it's not working. Found bad R8178 that was keeping 3v3_s0 missing, measured in the Megaohms (and possibly Q8131), replaced now get fan spin. Found traces near SMC chewed through, jumpered them...
Not entirely sure of history, no water damage visible anywhere. Tried the usual SMC/PRAM reset. Bare board boots ok to OS on external.
Screen seems detected, EDP_PANEL_PWR_EN is high as is DP_INT_HPD and SMC_LID. I can't make out an image but I seldom can with these. I looked under the scope...
Water damage near Q7660/Q7680 (p5vg3s and 3v3_g3h). Replaced obviously bad ones, lifted the fets/cleaned pads. Every power is present but CPUVCC and screen/backlight as far as I can tell, even lid signals.
Not stuck in DFU, had to force DFU using keycombos to make sure. Just "macintosh" in...
Came in with no damage seen, both sides of board and case. Powered on as soon as I put my ammeter in, pulled 20v booted just fine, was charging battery etc. Chalked it up to bad luck and put it back together, now it doesn't work again. Now it pulls only .063A and does not loop boot.
1v5 LDO...
Board had water damage near U9080, removed U9080 (it looked awful), and most support components around it. Board pulls 20V from charger but Im getting 11V on PPBUS, 14M resistance to ground when powered off.
Diode red on ground = .391 (after 10 seconds)
I get 20V, seems to pull .8 amps then...
Every other port does 5v/reboot loop. One CD32 (u3200) just does not seem to make a circuit at all. Is it hard fucked or am I missing something. I tested fuse, looked for obvious shorts.
Also any tips on digging out underfill if I have to replace this?
On boot, the machine is very slow, with the fan on high. Managed to get iStat Menus and it shows missing readings for Bottom Skin, CPU Prox, DDR3 prox, PCH, Right fin stack. No visible corrosion, no evidence of liquid on the bottom cover.
Bottom skin comes and goes, but the rest are always...
I figure this is a long shot but how can I diagnose a suspected dead CPU/GPU on this thing?
Damage around QA340 and it's capacitor buddies on pins 18-23. Replaced all. Damage near mux chip and U7370. Replaced both and buddies nearby.
CPU VCC not present, GPUVCC stable around .9V with...
Came in with lots and lots of damage near J8300 display connector. Replaced, measured OK, many support components replaced as well. Tested OK on bench, got picture and backlight, cleaned up and ultrasonic'd JUST THAT AREA. 99% alcohol bath in that place and oven.
Retested after 100 C degrees...
Was performing mic repair on a fully working board, probe slipped, shorting I THINK the left subwoofer amp to ground or to a power source of another line (I was tired). After removing/replacing both right channel amps the board does not run off of battery but starts up and works normally...
No obvious damage, good magsafe. Gets orange light, but ALL_SYS_PWRGD is stuck low and I don't quite understand how to follow back to see why.

Multiple liquid damage points. Near R8711 ssd 1v8 power was especially bad. Replaced and tested nearly everything in that section.
Also found damage on cc805 and cc804 pins 1 pads were missing completely. Replaced and reattached with magnet wire. Nervous about that since it's CPU power...
Customer says it just won't turn on. I tried another battery, and then another whole top case with new battery already installed. No change. 5v negotiates to 20v after about 10 seconds, .468A drops to .0178A after 20v reached. Dual mosfet gates never told to open by U7000
Inspection, pretty...
No corrosion found, though I did find some crusty milk like stuff near ssd connector. DC jack has obvious carbon scoring. Replaced, now get amber light but only pulling .2A on 18.5V supply. Same on 85W genuine known good adapter.
Found PPDCIN not getting past dual Q7180. AGATE voltage on...
Possibly unimportant: Came in working. Was shutting down on login. I thought it was OS, so wiped and reinstalled. Reinstalled fine, made user, and it shuts down when about to show desktop. Worked fine in Safe Boot. Weird. Ended up buying mac from customer so she could get a new one and get...
Came in for no power, was at another shop, looks washed and not rinsed. No visible corrosion. Unknown if water damaged but likely given white chalky film around every solder joint and 100% pink moisture indicators.
Disassembled for initial test, gets 20V, draws boot amperage. partially...
