    820-00431-02 - 2 leds, no chime

Working on an iMac for a change. No real prior experience (ripped the power button cable already) but as it's pretty much a MacBook on the inside, I should be able to work on this quite easily. 2 leds, no chime All rails present 5v rails are 5.1 - normal on these? or maybe just unloaded Some...

820-01700 - Chimes, no other signs of life

Got this one where it would get to 0,4A power draw and shut down after a bit. Restored firmware with DFU mode twice. Now it chimes but that's it: no image, no external video but responds to PRAM-reset. Pulls full power on 87W charger now. Not a lot of experience with these. Any pointers?

    A1990 / 820-01041- Lines on screen

Works perfectly except for the screen. * Lines on screen when booted * No lines during boot * Doesn't boot with an A1708/2017 screen * No test screen available Behaviour does not change when moving the screen cables / moving the screen, so flexgate not likely(?). During boot: Booted:

    820-00928 | A1707 | One fan full blast

This one came in with only 0V on one of the USB ports in one orientation. Changed the corresponding CD3215, first problem solved, it now has 20V and boots. Next problem, it now has a left fan that's on 100% all the time. Temps look ok (no reason for high fan temp wise). Ideas?

    820-00850 5V, 0.03A, clean

No visible damage, clean board. All cd3215's measure the same, no cycling on any of them. All 4 LDO voltages present for all, except BMC.

    820-00426 Corrupt BIOS

Got this one braindead; running fans, but nothing else. Reflashed BIOS with a clean one found on this forum (serial changed + checksum fixed) on a different chip and it came to life. Started a Big Sur install, crashed while loading the installer and now it's looping; fans spin for a while and it...

A customer sent this in with diodes D3300 and D3400 both shorting the PP20V line. I did the same repair 1,5 months ago on this machine. Suspecting a bad charger, any other things I should check?

    820-2936 - No USB

    * Liquid damaged board (mostly SMC area) * None of the USB ports are working, 5V present. * No keyboard/trackpad (likely USB related) * Both USB hubs (4600/4650) seem fine visually. * Working fine otherwise (limited testing w/o USB though) It seems to me that the USB link between PCH and these...

    820-01521 - Bad to worse

Repair attempt 1: Recently fixed this one after minor water damage. Replaced the RIO because of crackling sound. Tested it, everything seemed to work. Repair attempt 2: Got it back because it wouldn't wake up on occasion. Measure around for a bit and found SMC_LID_RIGHT and LID_OPEN_RIGHT to...

820-3787 - Chime loop wich battery

This board works fully (in limp mode / 800MHz) when the battery is disconnected. When the battery is connected it chimes repeatedly, so at the end of the chime, it chimes again. A different battery produces the same result. Replaced ISL6259, didn't help. Any thoughts? Could this be GPU related?
