Hi.

so short story, battery health was @ 55% capacity. before strip down the macbook would work, charge at 20v and didn't really appear to have any other issues. swapped battery and now taking no charge. was originally 5v 120 ma. after NVram and PRAM reset it went down to 38ma @ 5v. iv tried the original battery and same issue. i've checked all connections and all looks to be fine.

Not sure what else to do. there is no damage or liquid anywhere on the board so a little lost as to why now after a battery change it no longer works.

thanks

On further investigation found PP3V3R3V0_AON to be shorted to ground @4 ohms. removed cd3215 and short has gone. Will order another and fit. Would a loose fitting usb port cause this? every cable seems slightly loose when fitting. Just weird why its failed for no apparent reason.

cheers

Not sure if caused by that, but must be sure to avoid such issue in the future.
If VBUS pins touch another pins on the connector, CD3215, or CPU can be fried.

ok thanks. ive replaced the cd3215 and short is no longer there. am getting 3v3 on PP3V3R3V0_AON however charger is still stuck at 5v 22ma this time.
Checking ppbus_G3H im getting -0.134v, on diode mode im getting 0.405v. resistance to ground is ~265kohms. checked 3V3_G3H (L6995) and no shorts and getting 0v.
What else am i missing? or possibly a faulty cd3215? Thanks

Post U7000 basic voltages; P_IN, VR_AON, VDDA/P, POWER_GATE_EN, ACIN, ACOK.
Be sure to get all LDOs on CD3215 chip.

Hi. here are voltages.
U7000:
P_IN = 5V
VR_AON = 3.31V
VDDA = 4.82V
VDDP = 4.89V
POWER_GATE_EN = 3.27V
ACIN = 1.26
ACOK = 0V

CD3215 LDO's

BOTH XA_LDO = 1.8V
3.3VXA_LDO = 3.27V
