i'm rather new to repairing non-apple motherboards. this boards has a problem with +3valp. I was getting a low resistance to ground on the rail and i injected 1v. the pch got warm so removed it. the short seemed to be gone but when it comes back when the charger is connected. i'm getting 5v on +5valp

Do you measure diode mode (or ohm scale) with power applied???
I hope not.
Always allow 10-15s before such measurements, after power is removed (both charger and battery).
This way discharge remanent voltages on the board.
