Hi there,

We have MacBook Air A2179 doesn't charge and turn on at all. We removed Logic Board from laptop and inspected under the microscope. Looks like there is no visible damage. We checked all port using a USB-C meter. The laptop is stuck on 20v and 0.05 ampere. I need your help in this situation to move forward and to troubleshoot the issue. Please advise what to check.

Thank you. See attachments as well

Here are the readings:

P3V3G3S_EN --> 1.8v
PPVIN_G3H_P3V3G3H --> 12.6v
PP3V3_G3H_RTC_R --> 3.2v
PPVCC_NAND_SSD0 --> 2.5v

What do you think?

I am trying to connect external switch to force DFU mode. Reading logi.wiki web page. So my board is A2179 and it says I should connect the wires to between pin 1/R8010 to pin 1/C7845, or other convenient 1V8_SLPS2R point. I want to get confirmation that I am doing correctly. Basically we want to short these resistor and capacitors? Can you please tell me exactly step by step where to connect each wire? Thank you.

We soldered to wires to the mainboard. We plan to assemble the laptop and try to turn on it by shorting the cables. Is this correct? We need advice here.

The solder points are correct.
Isn't more easy for you to connect the wires to a switch?
This serves to control SOC_FORCE_DFU.

I also recommend to connect a switch (in same manner) to SWE010.
This serves to control PMU_ONOFF_L, with audio flex disconnected; avoiding a problem with power button.

We are missing element on SWE010 position. We only have pads there. Should I connected wires on to 1/SWE010 and 2/SWE010?

Thanks for your help. So I connected new switch to SW010. The photo attached. Please look at the photo. If it is correct I'm going to assemble the Logic Board back to the laptop. The question is when do I need to press the switches? Before giving power or after giving power? Please guild us

As I explained on logiwiki:

"How to use the mentioned switch:
Connect power cable and DFU cable.
To avoid any weird symptom, force the machine off, pressing power button 5-8 seconds.
Press FORCE_DFU switch for 3-5 seconds; you should see DFU logo now.

If machine resists to enter DFU, try "playing" with FORCE_DFU and power button."

Thank you very much. The recovery mode appeared on Apple Configurator. The device is charging well 20V and 1.85 amps. But no screen and no chime. What can be next step?
