Hello community!

here I have a problem with a 15 inch MBP A1707, which does not turn on.
I checked the voltage, and it's stuck at 5v 0.02 amps for all charging ports.

So my question is: how can I be sure it's the CD3215 chip? And which of the 4 chips is faulty ?

There is no liquid damage, it just happened overnight.

Awaiting your reply,
best regards and thanks !

We need some more readings, like PPBUS_G3H, 3V3_G3H_RTC, AWAKE and SLPS2R voltages.

Compare diode mode to ground and voltage on LDOs of all CD3215 chips.

Low Drop Output rails of CD3215 chips.
You will undertsand looking isnide of their block schematics.

Looks more like SMC communication problem.
What shows USB-C meter if connect the battery?
Trigger SMC_ONOFF_L and see if tries to start, with battery connected.

When the battery is connected to the motherboard, the USB-C meter shows me 5.2V , 0.084 A and 0.44W.

I tried to find the SMC_ONOFF_L on the schematic, but I can't find it. Could you please explain to me what it is and what exactly I should do with it ?

So if I understood your query correctly, you want me to inject 20V on the PMU_ONOFF_L line to see if it tries to turn on. For example on R8015. That's right ?

No, I didn't do that.
How can I use this pad if it is under the motherboard when I put it back in the case to connect the battery?
Can I use the R8015 component to do this test?
