  • iPad Air not charging after changing the touch.

Hopefully someone can give some direction, I don't do mobile devices often.

I changed the touch on an iPad Air and now the charging system is playing up.
The percentage doesn't seem to change and if I plug it in to charge, it only shows the green bar and lightening icon after a restart. Remove the cord, and plugging it back in results in no change until another restart. :/

I don't believe I knocked any components off the board as I inspected with a Microscope.

    Any suggestions?

Fake charger/cord can do that too.

I tried several different cores that charge other iPads okay.
However, I know they are all knock offs. Will test with OEM in the morning.

      Thanks Dukes.

Same result with an OEM cable.

I noticed the iPad doesn't get picked up by the computer either.

        It's odd behaviour.
If I start the iPad with the charing cable in, it shows the bolt and green bar. As soon as I turn the screen off and back on, it's as if it's not plugged in.

        Faulty charging flex maybe?

Just bumping this post in case someone with info sees it.

I am starting to get a collection of iPad Airs that are doing this fake charging thing and can't work out what's causing it.
