Pull out of an old MacBook that was laying around the shop, so I don't know the history.

Board looks really clean.

As in the subject; doesn't see the keyboard or trackpad at all. Jacks all look good.

Not really sure where to start, haven't had a board that can't see the keyboard & trackpad before.

Fans not spinning up any more, so looks like I have the TP working ok. (Haven't booted into an OS yet).

Still no keyboard.

Power button on keyboard works though.

Oh. So I did a PRM reset and the keyboard is working.

Can anyone point me to any documentation on how the PRM reset works and what it actually does?

Edit: To clarify, I couldn't press Option to get the boot menu. So I tried Command+Option+P+R just as another bunch of keys to test with and it did a reset. So I pressed option on the next boot and got the boot menu.

It could have had an EFI lock. On these old boards that will reset when you change RAM and PRAM reset it. Also without trackpad the keyboard will act weird sometimes.
