  • 15" Mid-2009 MBP A1286 Airport Install?

I have a MacBook that only has a Bluetooth card currently installed. The regular Airport card hookup on the motherboard is not soldered in. The customer wants to upgrade it with a wireless card. Has anyone here seen this before and was able to upgrade it? I could just solder the connector to the board, but I'm unsure if the other necessary circuitry is present.

On a side note, I'm amazed that Apple had the nerve to omit a wireless card in a $1000+ laptop in 2009.

What??? The airport card resides in the screen under the clutch cover.

Bad connector or cable is the common problem why this does not work. Try a known good LCD assembly, 13 and 15 are the same for the airport connector.
