I see oscilloscope is needed for getting into a higher level of success repair rate, just wondering what's the good one to start and where I can learn some practical usage of it.
thanks

Anything above 25Mhz is ok, I have a Tektronix TDS 3032B just because I get it for a good price :) but i think it is to much for this application........... For learn how to use it search on youtube....

If you are expecting wonders on repair with a scope then I must disappoint. I use mine once every 3 months. But anything cheap doing 20Mhz will do. Old CRT scopes you can many times pick up for free.

I mean, should I really spend time on this thing, it's getting busy here lately and just wondering if that's a must to finish some of the repairs

I only use it to check the RTC 32KHz when I'm desperate. Not really needed I'd say, but pick one up if you see it for $25.
