Water damaged around USB on board. Cleaned. Feeback trace is good. I get 20V out, nothing on screen. I've tried another display, same thing. What am I missing?
This was water damaged Macbook, keyboard took damage and a bit of the SMC area. Someone tried to repair it previously by making one jumper and reflowing ISL.
Using DCPS, the board tries to boot and pulls 1700mA, but drops shortly after to 24mA and stays there. I'm guessing SMC not working...
Alrigh, full short on CPU_VCORE. CPU lights up like Christmas tree. I actually measured this at first when opening board, but didn't want to give hope that yet. I've rebuilt everything, except that U2800, which can be replaced, right?
As for CPU, what would be the best source?
I ended up full shorting U2800, which is removed now. That can be replaced, right?
No shorts on PP3V3_S5 and PP3V3_S4 now...
Back to square 1. I tried to catch (before messing with anything on board) any pulse on L7520 and it would go up to 1.5-2V and back to 0V.
But first to rebuild U7501...
Macbook just died by itself. Board is clean, nothing visible have I found. Replaced U7501 and it board tried to boot to 200mA and more, but returned back to 24mA.
PPBUS 8.6V
PP3V42 3.42V
Orange light present
Solder balls around Q7520
Water damaged around C9687, down below from DC Jack. Cleaned in UC, tried booting. 55mA. Pulled U2600 out, found PP3V3_S5 0.0017 diode mode. Tried injecting 3.3V there, U1800 gets warm.
Am I screwed? Maybe just for test lift all caps in damage area where liquid was?
