If it's highly unlikely then I'd definitely prefer to exhaust all other options first. Any thing wrong in those pictures? Anything else to test or try before the BIOS? Cheers
I've been taking a look at some old posts and found this. Replace BIOS time?

Following on from previous repair. This board had a new U7100, Q7130, DC In Board and DC Flex Cable to bring back green/orange light. It still wont turn on and I have the following:
PPBUS_G3H = 8.5v
PPBUS_S5_HS_COMPUTING_ISNS = 8.5v
PPBUS_S5_HS_OTHER_ISNS = 8.5v
PPDCIN_G3H_ISOL = 14.9v...
That connector was a pain but all sorted. I have the new DC in board and flex cable connected. I have green/orange light :)
It still will not turn on though.
PPBUS_G3H = 8.5v
PPBUS_S5_HS_COMPUTING_ISNS = 8.5v
PPBUS_S5_HS_OTHER_ISNS = 8.5v
PPDCIN_G3H_ISOL = 14.9v
PPDCIN_G3H = 14.9v...
Is there a reference of good diode mode values for the common things like PPBUS_G3H and PP3V42_G3H for the different boards? I don't have a working spare, only donors.
I am dealing with this board and finding shorts. Both of these rails were shorted to ground, both around 32 on diode mode. I...
No Title
PPBUS_G3H = 8.54v
PP3V42_G3H = 3.34v
But....
This explains the burning smell from when I injected 3.4v originally. I thought it was from that area but couldn't be sure. Also explains no green light. New DC IN Board and Flex cable ordered. Can't find J9500 on ebay so will have to swap...
Progress again! :)
So I took that U7100 from the donor board and now I have PPBUS_G3H and PP3V42_G3H
So it seems that the problem was that the short I found on the PP15V_TBT circuit was taking out U7100...?
Still no green light so on to more troubleshooting.
Thanks for the reply. I don't have a known good board :( Donor with U7100 on the board, PPBUS_G3H = 410 Donor with U7100 off the board, PPBUS_G3H = 120
These are my PPBUS_G3H measurements with U7100 on the board I'm trying to repair.
R7006 Pin1 = 117
R5501 Pin1 = 118
Q5500 Pin4 = 119
R5450...
While I was trying to figure out what was going on, I looked for more shorts and found that U3090 had shorts to ground on TBTBST_SNS1 and TBTBST_SNS so I have removed that chip just in case. The shorts to ground on those lines are now gone. No change in PPBUS_G3H...
U3090 is just thunderbolt...
