I'm an idiot, I really do apologize for wasting your time. A jumper I ran some time ago came loose when I was cleaning corrosion in the area and it seems I soldered it one pad over from where it should've been, a ground pad :|
Now to tackle yet another issue I created on this board. Some...
This is minutes after power is disconnected. It will do this every time I check.
Diode mode between ppbus_g3h and L9080/580 is both .460
My thought was the short could be a mosfet because there was no discernible heat coming from anywhere on the board.
Sorry, I don't understand what you mean...
Titles says it. When I turn the board on one fan kicks up to max speed immediately. The other does absolutely nothing. Was fixing an audio issue around U6400 but cannot say whether or not that's when it started. I can confirm once upon a time the board worked fine though. Not sure if it was...
What am I comparing on L9080? Like PP2V5_NAND_SSD1 to ground? to ppbus_g3h? to PP2V5_SW1_TPS62180_SSD1? Sorry for my ignorance.
ppbus_g3h to ground when I first touch its about 5ohms then drops to 3ohms after 2-3 seconds then settles around 2.5ohms, but when I hold it a long time (20+ seconds)...
battery board was corroded so I didn't bother plugging it in. there was corrosion around Q7065 and Q7401. haven't replaced anything yet. board refuses to boot with by-3200 cable, not sure if the battery charging circuit would stop boot or if there is another underlying issue. sits at 20v 100ma...
I really hate this board. Plugged in to test, heard pop, killed power. Inspected and didn't see anything obvious. Plugged back in and now it's stuck at 5v 45ma. Don't think I've messed with a 5v board so not sure what to check first.
Edit: 5v on all ports
Edit 2: ok so ppbus_g3h is short to ground
Still no backlight. Back at this board because my A1706 is annoying the shit out of me. Basically impossible to use while charging on the left side. I fixed it twice and it worked fine for a couple days then back to the same issue. Rather than fixing it right now I'd like to just upgrade to this...
Ok so triggering SMC_ONOFF_L causes a spark and PM_PWRBTN_L goes to 0v then back to 3mv when open again. I didn't understand what you meant by "7 OF 10"
PP3V3_LDO3V - 3.2v
PP1V25_VREF - 1.21v
PP3V1_RTC - 0.19v
Also it's probably worth noting when I plug the board into power it draws 0.2a for a...
PPBUS_G3H - 13.13v (w and w/out batt)
PP5V_LDO5V - 4.92v
PP3V3_S5 - 0v
PP5V_S4 - 0v
PP1V2_S3 - 0v
SMC_RESET_L - 3.42v
PM_PWRBTN_L sits at 3mv
Short SW9988 or 89 to ground? Or short SW9988 to 89?
I believe this had liquid damage around the backlight caps on the backside of the board. I...
