I have Replaced U6500 and no low resistance at SPKRAMP_RW_AREG anymore
SPKRAMP_RW_AREG - 0.55Vdc
SPKRAMP_RESET_L - 0.048V - ..._L should stay low to operate right?
I cant make sense of it. Diode readings are similar to another board I have. Also, to the left side channels.
Cant figure out if...
Very heavy liquid damage around U6300, U6500/50, and whole bottom edge of the board. Some around right USBc ports but they seems to charge
Charge chip was blown, replaced/
Now Mac turns on and everything seems ok, apart than sound.
Replaced U6300 and U6550 as I have 0.88Ohm resistance on...
Active low being low when it needs to communicate (being active) and should not stay low most of the time?
I get on both boards' same readings for these
SPKRAMP_INT_L - 0.46Vdc
SPKRAMP_RESET_L - 0.43Vdc
To compare the signals I will need a scope, I have a signal analyzer but I doubt it will be...
Went through majority of the test points mostly match, some doesn't but i dont have them marked as test points on the board view so cant confirm what they are for.
Looking around these corroded ones in C6415,C6406 area.
I do not have any short to the PPBUS_G3H there and chip is not shorting...
Tried DFU with no luck, both with a jumper on SOC_FORCE_DFU and a spare keyboard
1.8_G3S Pulsing
3.3_G3S not Pulsing
Resoldered most MOSFETs and ICs that had liquid around. Reflowed U28/2900 too
Reballed CD32's. They had quite a crap accumulated underneath.
The last reflow BGA left is T2 but...
I have reflowed the BGAs CD32s/U6400/U6860 which had liquid around. Is there other way to localise why PP5V_g3S is fluctuating without a short?
Or do I need to keep pulling these BGAs out and resoldering them back?
Merry Xmas, Healthy and Prosperous New Year.
PPBUS_G3H ok
PP5V_G3S - 5V -> 0V -> 5V
T2 heats up and down.
Heavy corrosion around the Tpad/KBD board
Corrosion around: U31/3200, U3060, C6406/6415, R5410 area, U9060, Q7660/80, Q7065, Q7401, R7430
There are no shorts anywhere. U7800 Diode mode...
Just tried this morning and it turned on, I will test furthermore.
I have UC'd only the SMC area, just to make sure corrosion is not underneath.
Thanks again,
Seems all the drama happened around the SMC
Corroded track on R5193/R5117/R5177/R5100 replaced and rewired broken joints
U3710 had a bad track to SMC_OOB line, rewired that
After all this was repaired, it turned on and seemed ok, so I ran it over Ultrasonic Cleaner, then 0.02A and dead...
I can see it gets to it. When I connect the usbc meter to the top port and Apple conf to the bottom one, closer to the trackpad. The usbc meter reboots after 10sec with the keyboard shortcut to DFU.
yes tested with only bare board with SOC_DFU_FORCE pull up to 1.8V. Also in the case with disconnected audio and battery only.
There is no oxidation residue apart than U8200. But again it seems to be washed with something like aerosol can as feels oily.
Not turning on, a liquid around UF500, opposite side of U7700, underneath U5000
Corroded and knocked off R8170, replaced it.
PPVBAT_AON - 0V
PPDCIN_AON - 5,19V
PPBUS_AON - 12.9V
PP3V8_AON - 3.79V
PP5V_S2_MAIN - Jumping voltage at about 2.5V
PP1V2_AWAKE - Jumping too under 1V
I dont see any...
Thanks. I have replaced U3100 with another one still stuck at 5V 0.23A on both ports.
Still missing 1V1_LDO_BMC . Only different now under IR is that both ports seems to heat up T2 evenly, unlike before.
Looking at the bootup sequence - https://logi.wiki/index.php/CD3215_Bootup_Sequence I went...
Also want confirm if this is the expected behaviour? Could this be a cause of the system not getting detected under Apple Configurator. Maybe faulty U3100 or its circuit
This is with SOC_FORCE_DFU jumper.
When connected to the top USBc U3200
When connecte dto the bottom USBc U3100
Sorry I must have not been clear. The one with oxidation was U8200. I have taken it out and cleaned underneath as it had bad solder joint on pin1
R3091 on U3200 looked like it had a corrosion marks. I was thinking it might have leaked under U3200 and was thinking to reball. But it is slight...
