first think i would check is voltage on L7710. if pin 17 is ok and pin 5, pin 18 are all present then no boosting is happening on pin 2 of of L7710, then change U7701. please report back these voltages first.
That I've been told a 13" screen will not work on a 15" machine. i would suggest going over the pinned post on back light issues even thought its not a macbook air.
for me i always use the proper watt power supply directly to the magsafe jack, except when diagnosing battery only issues. Board view does show which components are connected to each other as long as you select a component. I does show what each pin is supposed to be but not actually values like...
screen is black. have already changed connector, lcd cable and screen already swapped from known work machine. ill check resistors though. smc was reset and pram.
I've got this 820-3115 that doesn't post video on internal display. video works great threw the thunderbolt port. i can see that the back light is very dim and no picture. the machine did have very minor liquid damage around c3888 and r3880.
ppvout_sw_lcdbklt-- 27v
L9080 pin1 and 2 are 1.4v...
sounds like buck converter problem between u7100 and q7130. i would check for short to ground on pin7 of Q7130, if no short then change q7130, then u7100. I'm betting U7100 is not working properly.
i recently fixed one that had similar issue. everything i would plug in the battery it would blow something up and no green light, log story short i chased a short to ground all the way back to the smc threw PP3V42.
i thought maybe the battery was bad until i tried a know good battery.
So I've got 2 of these 820-3332 machines that do the exact same thing. both of them run great until you try to play a video in full screen, then they shut down. When booted back up i get the error report that says GPU Panic error. i ran ASD EFI and it passed. When i run ASD O.S. it fails for...
haha funny thing is i was telling my self last night i should check the trackpad area. Sure enough found corrosion on the cable and connector cleaned it up and problem solved.
wish some would would create a piece of software that could read the sensors on these newer boards. Mark problem as...
im not sure of any app that will do that. i haven't posted this before just got the machine 2 days ago. i will have another go with it under the microscope.
