Yes, Ive used a known good screen assembly. The LVDS connector looks undamaged with no corrosion, ive also inspected the inside of the connector for burns. Everything is clean, so im doubtful its the LVDS connector
Not that interested in weather or not this actually gets fixed.
But i have a 2915 here that i fitted a GPU to (6750M)
The original symtom was no display internal and hangs on boots (external)
Ive got it all running on external, but the internal doesnt get recognised. LVDS looks clean, checked...
Hi
Been an odd week as this is not an isolated incident.
We've seen 3 3476 boards that freeze in OSX, two were repaired for liquid damage, the other was free of liquid and physical damage, and arrived to us with this fault and no previous rework/repair. They are all 2.6ghz/8gb, All tested in...
I Was poking it today, didnt really change anything, and then SYS pwrgd came high and so did V-Core, But its still not pulling the correct current, The cpu isnt getting warm. U1950 is good though.
Q8150 area was checked, i removed all resistors o ne by one but the rail didn't go back up. Considering that + the fan spinning up and down im almost certain the SMC is bad.
Hi, got a 820-3662 with all power rails and no post. No liquid damage. looks to have had long screw damage to the lower two of the CPU screw standoffs, but the pads are still intact with no visible damage from the screw.
SPI rom reflashed with a clean ME bios, no difference in behaviour.
No...
No liquid damage, Board is apple refurbished.
Fault is odd, all power rails other than v-core.
ALL_SYS_PWRGD is low.
Fan spins up for maybe 8 seconds, spins down, spins up again and remains on permanently.
Totally lost with this one. Tried SPI rom no changes
One for all the BGA nuts here.
Got an 820-2914 that i replaced the GPU on, First boot was perfect. After the first boot i shut it down to boot to a USB drive for some stress testing.
Since then its just white screened at boot, (just sticks on white, doesn't shut down)
This is the second time ive...
Id start by looking at PP3v42 regulator/components, I say this because its a standalone regulator without communication to anything else, I think if you sort the high pp3v42 the other rails may drop back down, maybe try and power pp3v42 of a bench supply and everything else of a charger and see...
Got a 820-3115 thats so very nearly posting, But just as it initialises RAM the machine turns off and starts again. The CPU core drops to 0.8V as it should just before post.
It had a tiny amount of liquid damage near the SPI, but ive reflashed it and no difference was noted. If the ram is...
I can tell you if it had liquid damage around the SPI then its shafted the bios chip and you need to replace it with a clean ME
Ive seen liquid damage around the SPI cause so many macbook airs to hang right near the end of boot and a reflash on a new bios chip has always resolved it for me.
The entire row not working suggests a bad PSOC/Keyboard controller.
They can be awkward to replaced though due to size. Make sure you replace it with one from the correct board as they are programmed.
Main thing im concerned about it keyboard and trackpad for now.
Power to the keyboard and trackpad is all good.
Diode mode on the trackpad connector checked and all looks good compared to a known good board
Hi
Got an 820-4924 here, no signs of corrosion/ liquid damage
The keyboard and trackpad first off worked intermittently, but now have failed completely.
Diagnosis picks up issues with both thunderbolt and the camera, I did have one run where thunderbolt didnt show any problems so again id assume...
