If you bought an "ebay amscope" or maybe even a real one with a camera and expected more out of the video, try these adjustable c-mount lenses instead of the shitty tube that comes with them:
SZMCTV1/2 if you're using a 0.5 Barlow
SZMCTV1/3 if you're using a 0.3 Barlow
SZMCTV1/4 if you're using...
Very strange. The issue is no longer present.
Even after an upgrade from High Sierra to Monteray, the issue had persisted.
Once booted without trackpad and 3.5mm board connected (which I believe houses the other sensor), SMC reset was performed, connectors brushed off and reconnected and it now...
After shutting down and closing lid, A1408 won't turn back on without first doing an SMC reset.
Shutting down without closing lid, machine turns back on without SMC reset.
No damage or liquid traces around hall sensor or SMC.
When testing with trackpad cable unplugged (LID_OPEN disconnected)...
New display cable was the issue. I have no idea how since it was a cracked screen replacement and the cable looked perfect.
Thank you very much for your help.
I am going to try a new display cable.
Could that also cause the touchbar to have that issue previously mentioned? It takes some time for the bar to come on. Touch still works but no display on it.
Sorry I'm not sure what you mean by t-con camera connector.
Both sides of the fuse show 5v.
Or do you mean on the display board? If so, the test points arent marked..
The old screen is very broken so it is hard to tell. I can only see light between the cracks but it doesn't seem to dim when the sensor is covered.
System report is blank under 'camera'
One other thing i noticed is that the touchbar works but sometimes takes some extra time to turn on after...
A customer stepped on her screen and cracked it.
I replaced the screen and got a 'camera not connected' issue when testing in photo booth.
I put it down to a faulty camera in the display assembly (not the first time).
I replaced it again and the issue remains. Out of curiosity, I tested with the...
It did seem odd to me. When I had nothing else to point to, I was thinking, if it were an integrated graphics issue, it should affect external display too.
Could it just be a cold joint somewhere on the cpu? Worth a reflow or an extra ultrasonic just in case or is it more likely to be a cpu ic...
The theory about the video driver seems correct. Windows2go boots and the machine passes in-platform memory/cpu/2d graphics tests.
Things fall apart when the graphics driver is loaded and the screen starts flickering again.
Yes, I waited until the flicker was happening to take those measurements.
I did a ram test a few days ago using memtest for 4 full passes and got no errors. I tested it to be thorough but i also figured it would affect the memory reading in the system specs or the system functionality as a...
