Hi guys,
this one came with LD which was almost invisible except some patches here and there.. I UC and the board started but would not detect the SSD drive.
I connected a USB boot drive and started from there without issues until the system shut down before completely booting and is in boot...
R7005 should be 20ohm and if I remember correctly if that is fucked U7000 is also fucked.. which is baffling since you have 12,6V
R7051 should be 2.2ohm
R7052 should be 0ohm... these two are for current sensing and should give proper readings.
R7021 - R7022 seem good.
so it has the same behaviour with headphones.. the sound comes up for half a sec and then stops.. if you wait a while it can work again for another half-second..
there is no light shining from the port indicating a working optical SPDIF output...
any ideas?
Hi guys,
This one plays sound for 1sec and stops. If you wait a while it will play for another second and stop again... I already replaced the audio codec but the problem remains. I focused on the audio codec since there are more than one amps and I thought that it can't be all of them...
update: I removed U9500 which was getting very hot but measuring PP5V_S0 at C9501 gives 0.023 diode mode. This means the short is present elsewhere on this rail but was also somehow affecting U9500.
should I inject 5V now? You see me reluctant because I would really like to follow the correct...
ok duke I will replace U9500 today and let you know..
diode mode to ground for PP5V_S3 is 0,381 when it was close to zero before u4600 replacement. Resistance between GND and PP5V_S3 is approx. 16.3Kohm.
u4800 is important for what? I see "IR Support" as title in the schematic.. or you mean...
Hi guys,
this one had an exploded u4600 when it arrived (it smoked while the customer was testing it) and I replaced it with new one and the short seems to be gone.
now when I turn it on the fans start and stop after 1-2 secs OR can last upto 10sec - this is when I noticed that U9500 gets...
Hi guys,
a new pearl came in today, and I say that not because I hate faulty motherboards (dont love them either) but because there are signs that someone already messed with the BIOS chip.
the behavior is that you press the power button, it turns on, then does one of two things:
either
(a)...
ok duke back to this one - 5V checks ok at L8300. Can the symptoms in this case explain a bad LCD? I am asking since I do not have a spare one at the moment but I can try and source one if there is meaning to it.
thank you for all your help.
ok duke, checked with flashlight, no image. External monitor stil working...
also you re right I was using a 60W one, switched to the 85W and works ok.
Hi guys, this one just came in with very little signs of LD - the owner sais it was not spilled on. I UCed it before starting with it.
I measured:
LCDBKLT_EN_L to be HIGH which means Q7706 does not produce PPBUS_SW_BKL
LCD_PWR_EN is HIGH which means the LCD is detected (?)
Also...
(sorry for jumping your thread Antonio - question opportunity!!!) Louis could you also explain how can ISL send 16V to SMC? And how can we test if that happened?
216-0810084 is directly compatible with 216-0810005? No modifications necessary?
also could you please make a truth table about compatibility between 216-0810084 and 216-809000 including combinations of Vram and required resistors?
I am not sure if the board would power up those rails without the presence of a GPU chip (need expert input here) but these motherboards do have a history of GPU failures and if I had to consider which connection points fail the most are those which convey current.
hi duke, thank you for the input.
so you mean the PGOOD will show up momentarily for every power rail? do I do this with magsafe always connected and wait for the power cycles or by connect/measure/disconnect/repeat?
