So replaced U9600 with one from the same board. Same outcome. I did noticed that LCD_PWR_EN is 0V, while PPVOUT_S0_LCDBKLT is about 50v. Any suggestion?
Have this board, no liquid damage or corrosion. Came in for no image on display, but when i first power it on, it worked just fine until I changed the energy saving setting to always use the AMD GPU and not the Intel. As soon as I made the change, and it switch to black screen.
i was going to...
Yeah that signal isn't on 00840 board. J6600 is where the power/touchID and audio jack goes into. I checked in comparison to 00850 that has the same signal and touchID, the measurement was a large resistance and not the small ground resistance i have on the bad board. Unfortunately i'm now...
None of the videos i found worked.
So I found the schematic, still searching for board view. Anyway, J6600 which is the same connector on 820-00840 J6600,
pin 21 - PMU_ONOFF_R_L_CONN
this pin is reading 1.7ohms with or without the power/audio jack cable connected. I'm assuming this won't be...
BIOS was based on the below linked forum as my issue was similar to an extent. I still have the original BIOS if i need to revert: https://boards.rossmanngroup.com/threads/820-00840-5v-on-both-ports-0v-on-pp1v1_upc_x-a-b_ldo_bmc.58788/#post-59269
I'm going to have to wait on another board to...
Hello
Have this board that had corrosion damage. Repaired all the miss obvious missing traces. Replaced both CD3215 chips, along with blown resistors. Also replace U7000. I've reflashed a clean ME and also a complete BIOS. Still not powering up.
Here are the readings i have so far...
Hello
I have this board, 820-01521-A, that's not powering up. Believe i've found the issue, or at least some of the issues. The client somehow ripped a bunch of components from the board i'm assuming during removal. Anyway, the boardview that i have, though it's for this part number, seems to...
I have a macbook pro 2019 (820-01598) with touch ID and Touch Bar that the power button is not responding. The touch ID itself works, but can get it to power on with the power button. It powers on if i connect the charger to it with the battery unplugged. Original issue was liquid spill but...
Would you happen to know what chip sets the backlight intensity when we adjust it on the laptop? Whenever the backlight drops out,
PPVIN_S0SW_LCDBKLT drops from 13v to down to about 1v.
I've replaced U8400, and Q8400. with the same result.
I replaced the display twice. At First when i got the machine in, it powered up but with no backlight. So i ordered a replacement display after I tested the unit with another display. The first display that arrived i thought was defective due to the flickering backlight. But had the same issue...
I have this unit that is having a backlight issue. It boots up completely to OS and runs, but when i attempt to adjust the backlight intensity, i then loose backlight and can't get it back. I still have image on the screen (can see the image when i shine a light on the screen). On other...
So symptoms i just observed:
Battery isn't charging or booting from it.
Not recognizing bootable usb for OS install but will recognize external HDD
Even though it recognizes external HDD, it will never boot into the HDD but ends up going into internet recovery which never finishes the load process.
Yeah, i used the apple USB-C to USB-C laptop charger cable and not a knock off version. I also tried the iPad pro usb-c to usb-c cables as well with the same result
I tried the DFU restore and got the below error,
Gave up waiting for device to transition from DFU state to DFU state. [com.apple.MobileDevice.MobileRestore – 0xFA5 (4005)]
