Hi all,
This board had a small liquid spill close to battery connector. - symptoms are that it can see the battery but displays replace now and will not charge.
Data lines are okay i assume as it can see the battery.
Battery is a KG OEM.
I've replaced the following:
ISL
All caps and resistors...
Yes CPU Vcore was present when it was on - it stayed on for a while last time. No output externally either. Sending this back I think... thanks anyway!
Hi all,
History of this board is liquid i believe but someone has cleaned and messed with U7200.
Anyway it's dead - when connected to PSU it draws 1.4 amps and then straight back down to 0.02.
All the rails are present when it's first connected and sometimes it stays on and cpu/gpu get hot...
Hi all,
I have an 820-3476 that had no power missing pm_slp_s4_l.
Traced that back to a corroded U8020.
Now it spins and draws 0.14 amps. I have no vcore and cpu is cold.
On Q8150 i have all the inputs around 0.7v but All_sys_pwrgd is 0.2v (i think this should be 3.3v?)
I replaced Q8150...
Hi, thanks for this. I actually put a new BIL connector on but seems okay, issue persists with no BIL connected. SMC was identical board. ISL measures okay on current sensing.
i will try an SMC next week and leave it at that
ah okay so new SMC is not working properly i don't think - i only get 12.15v on ppbus but it turns on? no backlight on the screen though and only 4v on backlight output
okay everyone get this for a laugh - went for the wrong screw hole when taking it out of ultrasonic - completely destroyed L4901 (literally in half) - why the f i replaced the SMC is mystery.
Hi i have an 820-3115 that was liquid damaged - mainly to backlight, firewire and tbt circuits.
It powered on and PPBUS was at 12.56.
Fixed all areas then after ultrasonic it now won't boot and no green light
PPBUS is 12.2v
PP3v42 is present
SMC BCACOK is present
SMC_Reset_L is 3.4v
ISL...
I'm thinking if the ports are receiving 5 volts (because the drive lights up and measures okay) then it dies and reboots - could it be U4650 which decides if USB data goes to the SMC that is dead?
Yes it powers and chimes then cuts out within 5 seconds and reboots. Just loops.
on U4600 I get 5 volts in and out. I replaced both filters but no luck.
not sure if it’s related but if I put the SSD in the machine via flex cable, it boots half way and turns off
ah just when i thought it was all good - USB ports seem to cause machine to power off. i've replaced U4600 and D4610 which had some small liquid damage. still no luck - any ideas?
And yes KG display same issue. The display was actually working prior to my work on the onewire and ISL so unless I killed it the cable and LCD should be fine
also backlight out is 27v so it can see the screen and powers the backlight, I also get 3.3v.
so it's just the creation of the image that’s not working, any clues?
