Hi all,
I have a 820-3115 that I have replaced the lcd connector on and now I get no image but I have backlight.
I tried another connector but same symptoms, any ideas?
Thanks
Hi all,
I have a 820-3115 that has 0 volts on PPVOUT_SW_LCDBKLT .
I have 5 volts into U9701 (i have replaced this but no change)
I also have pubs voltage at Q9706 but 0 volts coming out.
On pin 3 of Q9706 for LCDBKLT_EN_DIV i have 12.20v.
Any ideas what's going on?
Thanks
Okay so replaced all of those and i have 16v coming in and green light - but drawing 0 amps and PPBUS_G3H is only 0.1v
Any idea what to do next? it seems ISL is not creating the 12v but it's been replaced twice now
Hi all,
I have an 820-3115 that is completely dead.
This is the history so far:
- No green light and 9 volts on pubs_g3h
- Replaced ISL6259 because it looked like it had a hole in it
- Green light restored
- Powered up normally.
I then plugged it back into the power supply and Q7085...
UPDATE: Might have been a bit quick to post - looks like someone replaced the SMC but it looked awful - reflow seems to have it powered on and working. A lovely bath needed I think!
Hi there,
I've just had a board in thats had a lot of work done to it :-(
So symptoms are:
Fan spins for about 5 seconds when connected to power then stops. Then it starts again and stays on - fan goes high.
I have gone through all the power rails - all present including vcore at 1.8v.
Does...
Is there any way to tell for sure that it’s the connector - visually it looks great and I’m sure all of the voltages are present. I guess Pin 1 BCK light output being 50v can justify the connector replacement but just want to double check?
Hi John, with the original screen i get 0 volts on backlight output so i swapped to a KG screen and i can see the question mark folder with a light. I tried another screen to be sure and same thing... confused!
there was also a small amount fo liquid near C5801 which i notice has a prob point under for EDP_BKLT_PWM but it's present on pin 8 of the LCD connector at 1.5v
the other liquid damage was only on the SSD but i wonder if this could affect anything with backlight?
Hi there,
I have a 820-4924 with no backlight.
I have 50 volts on PPVOUT_S0_LCDBKLT
i've tested pretty much all of the backlight circuit and it seems fine. U7700 seems to have everything too.
any ideas where to go next?
thanks
