Okay, Ive changed J4802 now. No change.
Ive noticed something odd. When the TPAD is plugged in R4913 is lower than a known good (2.4V rather than 3v3)
When hotplugged straight after post all works well, and the Trackpad hardware is recognised under the SPI section of system report. Im really...
I have not, Do you believe there could be corrosion under it causing problems?
j4802 looks perfect under the microscope, and diode mode readings are the same as a known good board.
Thanks
Ive checked all small coils.
The jack is not bad, The codec has been replaced twice and im pretty certain of the soldering.
Ive checked against other boards for knocked of components, i did find a bad 5V trace to the amplifiers and repaired that, however that will not fix the codec not being...
I seem to a pile of insane faults.
I got a nasty 820-4924 in, Did allot to get it posting, and then found it wouldnt display or boot if the trackpad cable was plugged in, It just seems to sit with backlight on but nothing else.
Tried known good parts, inspected the board, Brushed U4830 and it...
820-4924 that has had its audio jack replaced elsewhere. Showing no audio devices in OSX (no chime either)
I have replaced the codec (u6201) twice, and still pin 4 of J6600 (jack) is O/L instead of 780 ohms (same with both codec's)
Ive followed the line and found no bad traces (but have not...
I can tell you i have modified a 2016 board to work with a 2017 SSD in the past. But i had a pile of dead 2017 boards to inspect for differences near the SSD connector. It was a while ago so i cannot remember the parts i changed.
2016/17 SSD's arnt always compatible in these. To test youd need both the 820-00840 and the 820-00875 boards. Im not sure if there is different BOMs on those boards for different SSD's.
I have a 3476 that had minor liquid damage. Ultrasonic cleaned and repaired pp3v2
It all runs perfectly but freezes almost as soon as it gets to OS X.
One of my members of staff noticed it doesn't free when an external display is plugged in. From here ive figured out that if you get it running...
Just an update.
The one that randomly hit me with this message was for a battery not being plugged in. It may be a case when it recognizes some missing hardware that it throws this error. I was confident in U3900 failing on the other one i had though.
Will not boot to USB OSX.
It will not boot to USB installer.
It will not run diagnostics.
every time i try anything it will shut down and restart.
Sometimes it will not post. When it fails to post we have all power rails however the GPU voltage on LA350 will stick at 0.9V and not drop to 0.8v...
Tried a clean ME region with no changes.
Tried a known good shell with no changes.
If lifeboat jumper is removed it sits on a flashing folder with no shutdown
Replaced both CPU and GPU buck regulators as that was the coroded area.
Still not getting any further sadly
Garbage chipsets? or just poor work?
I dont doubt the equipment was all im saying. i have also noticed he sells HD6970M cards on ebay, we all know that there real unobtainum.
2011 macbooks are not the only application for good rework stations. There are still good chips out there, just people in the know dont talk about it.
I dont care how or why he purchased the rework station.
A big misconception is that fake/reballed/zombie chips dont work for more than a week...
Whats the quality of his work like? Im interested because if the gear is actually his, and he's using it correctly then his work should be pretty good.
his advert is not well written, ill give you that, But he has a nitrogen capable machine, An air-vac onyx 29 by the look of the nozzle a proper...
i Wonder if it has anything to do with apple trying to nerf independent repair (news thats going around today)? I had one of these machines working in OSX after a repair, the next reboot it had 'critical update missing'
